One of the perks of being a certified planner through The Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada (WPIC) is that there are tons of alumni across the country that you can connect with for advice, assistance or just a chat over a cup of coffee.  It’s great to be able to build connections with fellow wedding and event planners who can understand your struggles and love to celebrate your successes.  I am the current WPIC regional representative for the Edmonton area and part of my job description is to organize events for alumni to get together, learn a little something to help them out in their business and connect with other planners in a fun, informal environment.

So on January 26, 2016 we held a get together at The Woodrack Cafe where Stacey from yegwed joined us to talk about managing your online presence and some tips and tricks for blogging.  This girl knows what she is talking about!  Everyone left with pages of notes and lots of knowledge to take back to their own business.  If you aren’t familiar with yegwed you’ve been missing out!  It’s Edmonton’s very own wedding blog featuring inspiration from styled shoots and real weddings, vendor reviews and profiles plus a vendor directory to help you track down the perfect companies to help bring your wedding day to life!

Katlyn of Katlyn Jane Photography was on hand to take some photos of the night.  If you are still on the hunt for your wedding photographer, take a minute to check out her work!  She’s incredibly talented and as a bonus, she’s super fun.  What else could you want from your photographer?

Huge shout outs to Kristy and Melissa from The Woodrack Cafe for hosting us.  If you’re a human who loves coffee then you will absolutely want to make the time to go grab a cup from these ladies.  They are real life besties who decided to take a leap of faith and open their dream cafe together and I’m so glad they did.  🙂  Not only is a cozy place to meet for a cup of coffee but those delicious beans are sourced from Canadian roasters in both Nova Scotia and right here in Edmonton!

We also have to say a huge thank you to some amazing vendors who provided goodies for our attendees to take home in their swag bags.  Both Blush Magazine and Bridal Fantasy Magazine provided copies of their latest issues to provide a little inspiration!  If any of you YEG brides are looking for some local inspiration be sure to pick up copies of both publications!

Local invitation and stationery genius, Glossie, created some gorgeous printed quotes for our ladies to take home to give them a little extra motivation!  If you want the perfect customized invitations for your wedding then be sure to contact Nicole at Glossie, you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you so much to all the ladies who came out!  We had a blast and can’t wait for the next one!
